Research indicates that pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB) or razor bumps, as we know it, affects more than 60 percent of African American men (AAM). The harsh reality is that this condition causes pain and discomfort. It also contributes to a very serious lack of confidence in appearance for men that suffer with it. It can also lead to awkwardness with men interacting and relating to women in general.
Gillette Fusion's MVP Prime Time 5-city tour highlights the Gillette Fusion razor by tapping into the lifestyle of key AAM consumers at local barbershops in the various markets. The tour began in Chicago (Oct 26-28), New York (Nov 2-4), Philadelphia (Nov 16-18), Washington DC (Nov 30- Dec 2), and is concluding in Atlanta (Dec 7-9). Each stop includes "The Men of Style Awards" - a recognition event honoring local barbers and style icons who embrace Gillette's motto "The Best a Man Can Get" as well as an in- barbershop emersion event including complimentary shaves, massages, and gifts.
The 2009 "Men of Style Awards" in Atlanta will take place Monday, December 7th from 6:00p - 9:00p in a private location. The red carpet and awards will be hosted by Fonzeworth Bentley and Kenny Burns. Confirmed honorees include Bernard Bronner (Publisher, Upscale Magazine), Mark Hayes (Good Day Atlanta), Frank SKi (V103 Frank & Wanda Morning Show), the 2 Live Stews (790 the Zone/ ESPN), Will Packer (Rainforest Films), Ryan Cameron (V103 and Atlanta Hawks announcer), Big Boi (Outkast), Lance Gross (actor) and more notables. This year's in- barbershop emersion event and media reception will take place at the Arena Barbershop on Wednesday, December 9th from 6:00pm - 9:00pm and will be hosted by Vivica Fox.
